Yes Pearl I'll ask Moldy to make it a sticky, so many people would benefit if they read this before posting.

Yea ok well that sounds right, because a wart is just the tip of the iceberg, underneath the skin is where all the viral goodies are, TTO can't get down there.

If that's the case, what the hell good does cryo do? All it does is make the visible wart (or most Rolling Eyes of it) fall off.

Daisyjoy:[Hi, everything you said is correct, but keep in mind this only happens to about 8 - 10% of people with HPV, so that's a minority if not a techincally rare occurance

Just was thinking...8-10% of the most common STD still is a significant amount...maybe not statistically speaking, but number wise. Did you know that only about 2% of the American population is Jewish? If 8-10% were somehow networked or congregated, it wouldn't feel like that few.

Sorry, rather off subject and not really that important. Just a thought.

states:

....ethically mandatory, or even recommended, that every person....tell future partners they once were infected.

and then he goes on to say:

but non-moral dimension...pragmatics...how would you feel....

on the one hand saying not necessary to tell but on the other hand saying if you don't tell will feel (presumably) guilty?? if they were to get warts....and yet how would one know they did not catch the virus from someone else??(as a by the way)

Am I missing something but having read this FAQ a few times now I get optimistic and then there is this sting in the tail

Here's an obvious faq to add:

Q: How do I tell my partner/future partner about HPV?

A: Direct them to this FAQ

This was one of the first posts I read as a newbie... after reading it I got the best night's sleep I'd had since I found out I had HPV. Thank Goodness for it!

THANK YOU SO MUCH! I have been reseraching HPV all day because I think I may have it but I haven't gone to the doctor yet. I think I have symptoms because I am about the take the CPA exam. I read so many pages that said there was no cure. Reading that scared me so much that I planned to commit sucide if I got positive test results. Your postinghas changed my mind and I can't thank you enough.

I'd like to know if there is anyway that a man can get tested for HPV. I have heard that there is now way for a man to know unless he actually gets GW and gets treated. Is this true??

Thank you, thank you, thank you. I cannot thank you enough for posting this FAQ. My best friend was recently diagnosed and we have been all over the internet and to multiple doctors trying to get straight answers. Everyone had an opinion, but this is the first time I've gotten answers that were well-reasoned, well-explained, and back up by legitimate research. We kept getting the "well, I always heard..." type answers. Again, thanks so much!

Wow I was so suprised by this thread and it is what made me join this forum. So much information on the internet is undocumented and is hard to trust. There are so many promises out there but they all seem a little sketchy.

This is the only thing I read on the internet that has made me feel better about the new situation I find myself in. It is very well documented and backed up. I was so glad to find that it wasn't some scam trying to take advantage of my situation.

This forum has also been a great place to get this off my chest ( I just hope I can now get it of my penis lol).

ahh that was a great read. I thought I had HPV for life.. but I guess not. I kept telling people that I "have HPV" because I thought it was in me forever!! I had it 4 years ago, and have been clear for 3 years! haha! Razz
